Proof values your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Data We Collect: When you upload an image, Proof processes the full image file, including any embedded metadata such as device make and model, GPS location, date, lens information, and software tags. We also collect upload timestamps and anonymized device information. We do not collect personal identifiers unless voluntarily provided.
2. How We Use Data: Your data is used solely for image authenticity analysis. All analysis is performed by our proprietary machine learning model running on our own infrastructure. Proof does not use any third-party AI service. Uploaded images are not retained or used for training. Extracted signal data (metadata, physics measurements, behavioral patterns) may be used to improve our models. This data is anonymized and cannot be used to reconstruct the original image. We do not sell or share user data with third parties.
3. Storage & Security: Uploaded images and associated metadata are encrypted in transit and at rest. All uploaded images and associated data are automatically deleted within 24 hours of upload. We do not retain them beyond this window. Access is restricted to automated systems and authorized personnel for technical maintenance only.
4. Payments: Subscription payments are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. For App Store purchases, Proof does not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. For Stripe purchases, Proof transmits your email address to Stripe to create your account. Stripe collects and processes your payment details (card number, billing address) directly. Proof does not store your payment information. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy. For payment-related inquiries, refer to Apple's terms or contact support@proofme.ai for Stripe purchases.
5. Data Retention: Uploaded images: deleted within 24 hours. Scan results: retained until you request deletion. Account and subscription data: retained for the duration of your subscription and deleted upon request after cancellation. Payment data: handled and retained by Apple or Stripe per their respective policies.
6. Cookies & Analytics: Proof collects anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience. This includes a randomly generated device identifier (not linked to your Apple ID or personal identity), device model, app version, and interaction data such as screens viewed, session duration, and feature usage. This data is not linked to your identity, not shared with third parties, and not used for advertising or tracking. No cookies are used in the iOS app. The website uses minimal, privacy-preserving analytics with no tracking or advertising cookies.
7. Children's Privacy: Proof is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact support@proofme.ai and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights: You may request immediate deletion of uploaded data or information by contacting us at support@proofme.ai. For residents of the European Union, you have rights under the GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. For California residents, you have rights under the CCPA including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. 9. Updates: We may revise this policy periodically. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
